Our Chickens

Rupert the rooster
Silly chicken, walking on the rabbit hutch!
Hens taking a dust bath

Priscilla

Rosie

These are our chickens that lay eggs. We get about 8 to 10 eggs a day. We also have meat chickens, that will soon be butchered and some younger egg layers. They will not start laying till next year. Every Saturday we visit our local farmers market and sell our eggs. Right now we are also selling peas, rhubarb, and radishes. We might go tomorrow... but it's the county fair time and we would like to visit the fair. We entered some things in the fair so stay tuned for the prizes and ribbons we won and some pictures too!!

Love your chickens. We are just raising for eggs. No roosters, hopefully. I have one pullet that is named Dotty but may be a Fred.

Hello Again! Can't wait for our State Fair to start...I think it's in a week or so and it's only 20 something miles from where we live. Last year we bought a tractor there...this year we'll only be going to have fun and EAT! Love your chickens...we have a Priscilla too but it's a goose. We think Priscilla may have turned out to be a boy but we're still not sure on that one. We butchered 35 of our chickens a few weeks ago..well we had them done but we won't do it that way again. Next time we'll just hatch our own at different times and butcher them ourselves. Enjoy your chickens and your eggs...Maura :)
