There has been so much going on, I have neglected the blog. I am promising myself this will happen no longer! I will post on the blog more often. The last post I made was when we got 5 new ducklings, 2 white runners and 3 critically endangered silver appleyards. The ducks are all grown up! Wow, funny how time flies by so fast. Another post to come later, promise!
( We would
really like to get some hatching eggs, ducklings or adult birds that
are unrelated to our silver appleyards. But for a good price.)
Well, we have fourteen eggs in the incubator and are just waiting for that 21st day! However, this past Saturday we went to a swap meet and added a few more additions to the farm. We ending up getting 9 baby chicks and 5 ducklings. Here are a few pictures of the duckies; Waddlesworth, Quackers, Freddy, Daffy, and Donald!
About two weeks ago, we started something new! Our cousin had six adult guineas he wanted to give us, so he could make space for some ducks he was getting. We said sure bring them over! At first we didn't know what to think. However, after a few days we have come to see they are wonderful! They eat all kinds of bugs and snakes. They also move so quick, making a few laps around the farm each day. The guineas are also great watch birds, squawking when someone enters the yard.

In the next few weeks we are going to be trying another new thing... yesterday while at Tractor Supply we bought an egg incubator and automatic turner. So we are going to give that a try and keep you updated on how it works out for us!
